Battle of Britain 70th

The 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain approaches, with a whole host of books being published and republished, along with supportive TV material. Events in the UK kick off this weekend with the Battle of Britain Airshow at Biggin Hill, but there are many locations in Kent and Sussex with Battle of Britain connections. One highly recommended is the Spitfire & Hurricane Memorial at Manston, Kent, site of the old RAF Manston airfield (pictured left). This excellent site has an original Spitfire & Hurricane, a good cafe/restaurant and giftshop, and is totally free!

There will also be much upcoming Battle of Britain content on Twitter; look out for the #BoB70 hashtags.
